Summary
Melody Flow is an offline music player. We don't want your data and we don't need it. This policy exists because the Google Play Store requires every app to have one — not because there's anything suspicious going on.
In plain English:
- We don't collect your name, email, phone number, or any personal identifier.
- We don't track what you listen to, when you listen, or how often.
- We don't create user accounts. You never log in.
- We don't send your data anywhere. The core music player makes zero network calls.
What the app stores (on your phone, not ours)
To function as a music player, the app reads and remembers:
- Your music library — the app scans your device for audio files so it can list and play them.
- Your preferences — theme, equalizer settings, sleep timer defaults, favorite songs, playlists you create.
- Playback state — currently playing song, position, queue.
All of this stays on your device only. Nothing is uploaded.
Permissions we request
- Read audio / media storage — to scan and play music files on your device.
- Foreground service — so music keeps playing when the app is in the background.
- Wake lock — so the CPU stays awake while playing audio.
We request no location permissions, no contacts, no camera, no microphone, no anything else.
Optional internet-using features
Two features in the app do use the internet, but only when you explicitly enable them or play a song where they apply:
- Automatic lyrics — when a song plays, the app may fetch lyrics from a public third-party service. The only data sent is the song title and artist. No personal identifier is attached.
- Update check — the Play Store itself handles updates. We do not run a custom update checker.
Both of these can be disabled. The core player works fully offline regardless.
Payment
Melody Flow is a paid app (₹59 one-time). Payment is processed entirely by Google Play. We do not see or store your payment information. Refund requests are handled through your Google Play account.
Children's privacy
Melody Flow is safe for all ages and does not knowingly collect information from anyone. There is simply nothing to collect.
Changes to this policy
If we ever update this policy, we'll post the new version here with a revised "Last updated" date. Meaningful changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
